A work in progress, Martin's prints of his feet and hands. Lighter and darker clay was used to create more depth. Martin will probably continue working on these.

Martin drawing a close up image of the texture of a collected sample of tree-bark found in the surrounding landscape. He has used a combination of light and dark coloured clay as well as marker pen to create the drawing.

Wen-Hsi using found flowers from the surrounding landscape as an object to dip into the clay to create marks on the surface of the traditional Chinese paper.

Martin's pencil drawing of found dried tree-bark collected from the surrounding landscape. Again he is thinking of adding clay to some parts of the image. These smaller images will be used as inspiration to think about our larger drawing.
Recently we have been trying to go for a walk first thing in the morning after breakfast as at this time the weather is cooler. It is also an ideal time to see kangaroo and wombats as they seem to mostly come out in the morning and evening. Flys our biggest problem, they are everywhere. It has been nice going for a walk in the morning as this has helped to start the day fresh and ready to create new art.
So far we have been creating lots of smaller drawing to get used to drawing with clay and to see what can be achieved using this process. We also found combining clay with other mediums such as watercolor paint and pen has been interesting. The smaller drawings will mainly be used to get us thinking about imagery we could use to create our larger piece that we have just started working on, we will be uploading images of this tomorrow if we can. We have also been taking pictures of the surrounding landscape and objects within it for inspiration.
